Foursquare Magisterium is the 26th release in the renowned Exceptional Cask Selection series from Foursquare Rum Distillery in Barbados. This expression highlights the distillery’s expertise in crafting complex and refined rums, blending meticulous aging techniques with bold flavors.
Composition and Aging Process:
Magisterium is a blend of three distinct single blended rums, each aged for 16 years:
- The first component was aged for 3 years in ex-bourbon casks, followed by 13 years in ex-Oloroso sherry barrels.
- The second component spent 9 years in ex-bourbon casks, then 7 additional years in ex-Oloroso sherry barrels.
- The third component matured entirely in ex-bourbon casks for the full 16 years.
All aging, blending, and bottling take place entirely on-site at Foursquare Distillery, ensuring complete control over quality. Bottled at 58% ABV (116 proof), Magisterium delivers a robust, full-bodied experience.
Tasting Notes:
- Aroma: Rich notes of caramelized orange peel, toasted coconut, passion fruit, candied nuts, nougat, cedar, and a hint of sea breeze.
