Nulu Toasted 'Prohibition Craft Spirits' 6 Year Old Single Barrel Select Rye Whiskey 114 Proof

"Carefully selected uncut and unfiltered barrels of 4-6 year MGP Rye finished in a fresh toasted barrel. The rye whiskey rests in the toasted barrels for 1-4 weeks. The Prohibition Craft Spirits team tastes the whiskey diligently throughout the finishing process to ensure a unique and superior toasted single barrel rye. Sweet and flavorful, yet bold and powerful. This hand picked toasted expression from Nulu offers notes of roasted almond, leather, and heavy spice. Toasted to perfection. Enjoy neat or on the rocks! Nose: Moderate intensity, sugary spices, and a nice toasty marshmallow notes. That intense herbal MGP rye punch is still there, but a little subdued by the finish. A little sweet oak can be found as well (props to u/t8ke for snagging a toasted barrel with some decent age). Palate: Viscous and intense! A blast of rye spice followed by vanilla, toasted oak, brown sugar and tobacco. The proof point on this is perfect, high enough to pack a punch but light enough to keep the spice in check. Ginger root and christmas cake spices round it out. Definitely a desert pour in the trust sense. Finish: Moderate in length but robust. Peppery spices, followed by graham cracker and brown/burnt sugars. The kind of finish that demands another sip seconds later. PCS did a great job of taking an intense base spirit and adding another layer of flavor with the finish."
