2026 Hell Diver
The defining evolution of the 2026 Hell Diver is the introduction of Oloroso sherry casks.
Hell Diver has always been built around sherry maturation, and Pedro Ximénez remains the dominant influence in the 2026 release. This year, however, the addition of Oloroso brings a savory, nutty dimension that adds another layer of depth to Hell Diver’s signature richness.
The palate opens with peach, bright citrus, dense baking spices, and chocolate. From the first sip, the finish immediately stands out, lingering in three distinct places: a maple-like candied sweetness across the lips and tip of the tongue; heavy wood spice and nutmeg across the roof of the palate; and a deep woody warmth carrying dark red fruit through the finish.
The Oloroso influence becomes increasingly apparent through the mid-palate. Savory wood and roasted nuttiness meet a sour-candy brightness, while a struck-match character brings out notes of toasted cashew and gives the whisky a distinctly chewy texture.
The interplay between sweet PX and savory Oloroso continues to evolve, introducing green tea bitterness and dried apricot through the latter half of the palate before resolving into lingering notes of caramel and clove.
