The 2026 Maker's Mark Cellar Aged release represents another remarkable chapter in the distillery's pursuit of exceptional aged bourbon. Now in its fourth annual release, Cellar Aged continues to demonstrate how extended maturation can deliver extraordinary depth, complexity, and richness while preserving the signature character that has defined Maker's Mark for generations.
This year's release brings together a carefully selected blend of 11-, 12-, and 14-year-old Kentucky straight bourbons, making it one of the most mature expressions ever produced by the distillery.
Unlike traditionally aged bourbon, Cellar Aged undergoes a unique two-stage maturation process. The whiskey spends approximately seven years aging in traditional Kentucky warehouses before being transferred to Maker's Mark's limestone cellar at Star Hill Farm. The cooler, more consistent environment slows the development of harsh oak tannins while allowing the bourbon to develop remarkable complexity, concentrated fruit flavors, and an exceptionally refined mouthfeel.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Rich and inviting aromas of dark cherry, vanilla bean, and warm clove, complemented by delicate orchard fruits. The additional maturation introduces a beautifully layered aromatic profile that balances sweetness with subtle spice.
